Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions

Still on the fence? Here are the questions I get most often before someone books their first call.

Is this call really free? What's the catch?

No catch. I offer a free 30-minute call because it’s the most efficient way for both of us to figure out if working together makes sense. I’d rather spend 30 minutes talking to you directly than exchange a dozen emails going nowhere. If we’re a fit, we’ll talk about next steps. If we’re not, I’ll tell you honestly — and you’ll still walk away with a useful perspective on your marketing. There’s no hidden sales process, no “free call” that turns into a high-pressure pitch.

You don’t need to prepare anything formal. The more useful thing is just to have a clear sense of what’s been frustrating you about your marketing and what you’re hoping to accomplish in the next 6–12 months. If you have access to your Google Analytics, your ad accounts, or your current website, it can be helpful to have those handy — but it’s not required. The call is a conversation, not a presentation. Come as you are.

That’s entirely up to you. If you want to move forward, I’ll put together a proposal based on what we discussed — outlining the scope of work, the approach, and the investment. If you want to think it over, there’s no timeline pressure. If you decide I’m not the right fit, that’s okay too. I’ll follow up once after our call, and if I don’t hear back, I’ll leave the ball in your court. No pestering, no automated email sequences, no “just checking in” messages every three days.

Yes — most of my client work is done remotely via video call, which means location is rarely a barrier. I work with businesses across the Southeast and nationally for clients where the work doesn’t require an in-person presence. For training clients in the Charlotte area, I’m also available to meet in person. If you’re outside North Carolina, the process is exactly the same — we just meet on Zoom instead of in person.

A few key differences. First, you work directly with me — not an account manager who relays information to a team you never meet. Second, I don’t have the overhead of an agency, which means my pricing reflects the actual value of the work, not the cost of a large operation. Third, I’ve spent years as the person agencies outsource to when they need specialized expertise — so you’re getting that same level of experience without the markup. And fourth, I’m invested in your results in a way that a large agency simply can’t be with every client in their roster.

That’s a perfectly valid place to be — and it’s not a reason to avoid booking a call. Sometimes the most valuable thing a free consultation does is help you figure out what you actually need before you’re ready to invest. Even if you’re six months away from being ready to move forward, a 30-minute conversation now can save you from making expensive mistakes in the meantime. Book the call, get some clarity, and move at your own pace.

It depends heavily on the type of work. Paid advertising campaigns can generate leads within days of launching. SEO typically takes 3–6 months to show meaningful movement, though that timeline varies based on your market and current site health. Website redesigns and conversion optimization tend to show results within the first month of going live. I’ll always give you an honest timeline expectation before we start — and I won’t take on work that I don’t believe will deliver meaningful results within a reasonable timeframe for your business.

I work with businesses of all sizes — from solo operators just getting started to multi-location companies with established teams. What matters more than size is whether you’re serious about growth and willing to invest in marketing as a real business function rather than an afterthought. Some of my most rewarding client relationships have been with small business owners who were just starting to build their marketing presence. If you’re committed to growing your business, I’m interested in talking — regardless of where you are right now.
